ARCHIE!!!!

this is Archie.  He is an Italian Greyhound (not, as many mistake him for, a Whippet).

Archie is not our dog.  He belongs to our dear friends Mitch and Matty.  Archie is their baby.

Archie comes to stay with us when his parents travel and we (meaning me and the girls) LOVE! it.   Archie LOVES! it too..  It’s like the city boy who takes a trip to the country.  Here there are chickens and rabbits, his girlfriend Nancy and a cat (Edward, who, by the way makes Archie really nervous), and we have Kids.  Kids who want to dress him up and pretend he is a baby.  Kids who think he needs a bath all the time.  Kids who say he is “the cutest thing in the world!” and they tell him that in incredibly high pitched voices.  Kids who drop food on the floor.  Kids who love him.

And we have a doggie door.  You don’t know freedom until you have a doggie door.

Here Archie gets dirty and stays up late…  he hangs with his friends and dreams of chasing rabbits…  it’s like heaven on earth (for a dog).
